Ellen Who?: Why a 21st Century Church needs a 19th Century Messenger

Ellen G. White is one of the most misunderstood spiritual figures today, and increasingly so by Seventh-day Adventists. Some argue that the Adventist Church is a cult that worships Ellen White, and there is no shortage of misinformation on the Internet and on Social Media to prove the point. If you want to know why Ellen White is not only “Legit” but relevant to the current Adventist Church, don’t miss this presentation!

Leadership: Functioning Tools for Service

A person who is organized usually systematically thinks about things, arranges everything accordingly. They know where things need to go and have a plan for what they need to do and when it needs to be accomplished. They know how to prioritize activities whether they are personal or church events. Organization is important to God’s work and a responsibility of the faithful Elder.

The Role of the Elder

Appointing elders in every church is a practice started with Paul and Barnabas in the early Apostolic church.  Today elders are present in every Seventh-day Adventist church.  However, practices and responsibilities of elders often differ from church to church, and even ideas of what leadership is differ. The role and function of an elder is outlined in the denominational Elders Handbook.  Do elders know biblical expectations laid upon them? This seminar will examine Biblical theology of eldership, elders’ functions of pastoral nurture and oversight, its development through church history and practical implications today. We will look at the best practices for elders in shaping our churches with Biblical culture of discipleship and spiritual growth, preparing the church to be ready to meet Christ in His soon Return.
